
English actress Lily James, born Lily Chloe Ninette Thomson on April 5, 1989, started her career in the 2010 British television series Just William.

Lily adopted “James” as her stage surname in honor of her late father, James Thomson, who passed away in 2008.

She gained recognition for her roles in Downton Abbey (2012–2015) and Disney’s Cinderella (2015).

Lily has since appeared in War & Peace (2016), Baby Driver (2017), Darkest Hour (2017), The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society (2018), and The Dig (2021).

She has also appeared in musicals like Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again (2018) and Yesterday (2019).

In 2022, she played the role of Pamela Anderson in Pam & Tommy. As a result of Pam & Tommy, Lily earned her nominations for both a Golden Globe and a Primetime Emmy Award.

Lily studied at Tring Park School for the Performing Arts and graduated from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 2010.
